First Degree Fitness Aspen StairMill
|A StairMill - not a “Stair Climber″
What is it about our love to climb, whether stairs, hills or a mountain, that just keeps us hooked on it? It′s important to know. The designers of the Aspen StairMill asked the same questions as they looked to create a device that emulated the best parts of climbing – how the body performs best naturally, how a mountain challenges us, how to build a green product – so that insight could be designed into a world class indoor apparatus.|
The payback of climbing is extremely high so as we consider any exercise method, the ones with a high payback – climbing, rowing and cycling - should rise to the top of the list.
It′s no wonder elliptical and treadmills are all pointing up as lifting one′s body weight with every step has greater benefits. But do these modified solutions really provide the best indoor alternative? No.
Our Aspen Stairmill delivers the most natural stepping motion, with varied resistance levels that emulate a mountain without occupying a mountain of space. Plus, Aspen brings some nice green design aspects as there is no motor, its electro-magnetic braking system is entirely user powered.
Why Choose Step Right Up?
The Step Right Up Stepmill is a simple to use piece of fitness equipment that
offers more benefits than a treadmill, requiring less floor space and consuming
Electromagnetically Braked – Not Motor Driven
It is simply the user′s own energy in climbing steps that drives Step Right Up. There is no electrical drive motor, which reduces power consumption to a mere 60 watts – the same as a medium intensity domestic light. Step Right Up′s electronics precisely control an electromagnetic braking system, which regulates machine speed, matching the feed rate of steps per minute to the user′s programmed requirement and personal energy input.
Step Lock Safety System
The Step Lock System employs a photo-optic sensor that will automatically
stop the unit if the user exceeds the lower limit of travel. The Step Lock also
enables the user to stand still on the stairs while programming workout
information in comfort.
With a compact footprint, transit wheels for mobility and a ceiling
height requirement of a standard 2.4m/ 8′, Step Right Up becomes
the perfect choice for any Health Club, Rehab Facility or Home Gym.
For those who are serious about losing weight and burning more calories in less time, step climbing offers a great way to achieve those goals by enabling versatile indoor fitness programs. As well as the obvious cardiovascular benefits, step climbing also
Stepmill climbing is also considerably more beneficial than forms of step up – step down exercise, as it greatly reduces stress on the joints, especially knees. The joint loading in stepping down is approximately 21/2 / times that in stepping up.
A Stepmill, not a “Stair Climber″
Stepmills and “Stair Climbers″ are like chalk and cheese! Down the years, the name “Stair Climber″ has come to be routinely applied to items of equipment where the user stands on two separate treads which move alternately up and down, either vertically or in a steeply sloping path. The feet must thus move along the straight line path of the treads, which is in fact nothing whatever like climbing real stairs!
With a Step Mill the feet can follow their natural curved
stepping up path between treads, thereby enabling far
superior muscle engagement and toning.
